dBpoweramp Batch Ripper™: Configuration

O
verview

After installation Batch Ripper Configuration automatically appears (it can also be loaded from Start >> Programs >> dBpoweramp Music Converter >> Configuration):

The main purpose of Batch Ripper Configuration is to configure CD drive(s), specifically to pair a CD drive to a loading mechanism. By default only one loading mechanism is installed with Batch Ripper 'Auto Eject - Manual Load', which is used for the manual loading of CD drives. There are many robotic loading mechanisms available on dbpoweramp.com, they should be installed as required before configuring.

To configure a drive click Configure next to a drive in the unconfigured drive section, after which the drive configuration page is shown:

Choose the loading method required, changing any CLI sections if directed to by the help file associated with the loader. Offer Spindle Change is normally automatically configured to match the loader, it is used to halt the loading of discs after a number of failed loading attempts (such as a spindle run out of discs), when halted Spindle Change offers to load a new spindle of discs or to end the batch ripping. Finally click Configure Drive to configure the drive.

 Batch Ripper Options

Reject CD if no Meta Data: is used when the metadata providers failed to return any results for a certain CD, this option would reject (not rip) those CDs.

Allow Next Ripped CD to be Same as Last: ordinarily a 2nd CD which was identical to the previous CD is rejected, perhaps the unload failed for the previous CD.

Batch Notes: allows editing of the default notes, set which information is included and optionally add a company name to the Header.

Prevent auto-run on all CD Drives: this option sets the CD drives to disable auto running. Changing auto run at a system level is better though, to do so:

Disable CD AutoRun (see for reference http://support.microsoft.com/kb/155217 )

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
2. Locate and click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom
3. To disable automatically running CD-ROMs, change the Autorun value to 0 (zero).
4. Restart your computer.

Keep Unload Order Same as Load is used to make the unloading pause in that the unload order is kept in sequence as the load order, used then ripping on multi-drive systems and have the CD Jewel cases in order.

Store Results: is used to set the location where Batch Ripper stores its ripping log files, if using multiple computers to rip it is best of all computers point to a shared network path (shared to allow reading / writing of all computers).
